David is the creator of the Alaskan webcomic Cabin Fever, author and illustrator of several books, and the mind behind Curmudgeon County Collectables.
Growing up in Alaska he discovered early in life the joys of exploring the outdoors under the northern lights and the midnight sun. He also discovered mosquitoes, bears, sunburn and Bigfoot……okay, Bigfoot’s debatable. While recovering from the joys of the outdoors he happened upon his favorite pastimes, drawing and daydreaming!
He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a closet musician, and a big fan of pizza!
Some people, and gallery’s, feel that comics and cartoons are not worthy of being considered “real” art. This is a piece I did recently to remind me, if no one else, that a drawing is a drawing no matter what the approach or style. No matter if you’re approach is more based is realism or more caricatured the principles are the same. Each makes use of line, value, perspective, etc. The only difference is are the proportions you choose to employ. So celebrate the “high art” of cartooning! 🥳
