David is the creator of the Alaskan webcomic Cabin Fever, author and illustrator of several books, and the mind behind Curmudgeon County Collectables.
Growing up in Alaska he discovered early in life the joys of exploring the outdoors under the northern lights and the midnight sun. He also discovered mosquitoes, bears, sunburn and Bigfoot……okay, Bigfoot’s debatable. While recovering from the joys of the outdoors he happened upon his favorite pastimes, drawing and daydreaming!
He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a closet musician, and a big fan of pizza!
Here is a little concept work for the upcoming book, Horror in the Hallows. An abandoned journal tells the tale of disturbing occurrences deep in the woods. One man’s first hand account of something sinister, shocking, and psychotic or a deluded individual’s disturbing decent into an endless pit of madness? You decide.
Here is a little painting I did recently inspired by a sculpture called The Abduction of a Sabine Woman. Done in a kind of tv animation style and I really wanted to make the hair pop. Hope you enjoy! 😁
This is a little concept comic I did a while back called Death Bites. It’s about a group of cute “creatures” that work for the Grim Reaper and are in charge of wooing people into the afterlife. Rather unsuccessfully for our main character of course.
