David is the creator of the Alaskan webcomic Cabin Fever, author and illustrator of several books, and the mind behind Curmudgeon County Collectables.
Growing up in Alaska he discovered early in life the joys of exploring the outdoors under the northern lights and the midnight sun. He also discovered mosquitoes, bears, sunburn and Bigfoot……okay, Bigfoot’s debatable. While recovering from the joys of the outdoors he happened upon his favorite pastimes, drawing and daydreaming!
He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, a closet musician, and a big fan of pizza!
This is the third and final post of the snowman saga. It was fun to revisit these old comics. It’s a bit like reading an old journal entry. This particular one is an examination of mortality. How do we make peace with our own inevitable demise? Should we rage against the dying of the light, as Thomas suggests? Or embrace it as the natural progression of a mortal life?…For our snowman the answer is to simply live in the present. And enjoy a lollipop. 😜
P. 1P. 2P. 3P. 4P. 5Here is a mini story that will be included in our upcoming book, The Mudsuckle Ritual! A goofy Alaskan rhyming mystery about a missing person, an ancient ritual, and a puppy dog P.I. 😜
I was reviewing some old Cabin Fever comics recently and this character was one of the delightful surprises of the strip. A snowman who ponders his place in the world and inevitable spring. (A rather tough time for snowman kind) 😜 Hope you enjoy!
